Dear Miracle Ride Supporter,

With the pledge that the Miracle Ride of 2007 would be the biggest and best motorcycle event in Connecticut, the ride in support of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center exceeded all of our expectations.  Close to 4,000 motorcyclists and passengers assembled at the Bushnell Park on a beautiful sunny spring day.  The ride proceeded past the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center as pediatric patients and staff waved to a parade of motorcyclists that took more than 35 minutes to pass by the front of the hospital.  The parade then proceeded west to Bristol, CT, and the Lake Compounce Amusement Park.  The facility was opened for all participants, including food and most of the rides.  It was a spectacular day.

No sooner have we closed the books on this year’s event than the committee has begun to meet in planning for next year’s Miracle Ride of 2008.  Now is the time for us to count upon you to help make next year’s ride a success.  To date, close to $300,000 has been raised through this annual event, and we certainly want to continue the great participation, which we have enjoyed over the past few years.  Pediatric care is very expensive and the hospital can only provide this unique care through the generosity of sponsors for events such as the Miracle Ride.  Our goal for 2008 is to exceed $100,000.

The Miracle Ride has become an event for all motorcyclists from the New England area.  The 2008 Miracle Ride will be held on Sunday, May 18^th.  The parade will once again arrive at Lake Compounce for an afternoon of picnicing, riding and fun events.  Proceeds from the Miracle Ride will help fund the purchase of expensive neonatal equipment essential for the acute care needs of infants at the hospital.
